Accountability

Accountability refers to the attribute of being responsible for the actions and decisions of AI, as well as the impact AI systems have on individuals and society.

To ensure accountability, clear lines of responsibility must exist for the development and deployment of AI systems, and mechanisms must be in place to address any negative consequences that may arise.

Operationalizing accountability could include the use of audits and independent oversight.
